Senior Infrastructure Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting our organisation’s complex infrastructure systems. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain cutting-edge technologies.
Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and robust infrastructure solutions to support the organisation’s applications and services.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets current and future business needs.
System Administration:
- Administer, monitor, and optimise server and network systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices across infrastructure components.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Capacity Planning:
- Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to anticipate and address future infrastructure requirements.
- Propose and implement scalable solutions to accommodate growth.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system architects, and security professionals, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and gather requirements.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles and training materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
- Proven experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
- Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing infrastructure challenges.
